Terms of Service
Last updated: [Date — set when approved]
1. Who we are
Section Studio is provided by [Company legal name], a company registered in England and Wales (company number [Company number]), registered office [Registered address] (“we”, “us”). Contact: [contact email]. These terms apply when you create an account or use the service.
2. The service
Section Studio helps you build websites for small businesses and design sections and pages for Shopify stores, using AI. It includes hosting of published websites, enquiry forms that send you leads, optional web address (domain) purchase and connection, and related tools.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract, and you must give accurate details.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- You need to confirm your email address before publishing a website or making payments.
- One person or business per account. Agency plans may build websites for clients.
4. Plans, payments and AI credits
- Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance (for example Starter £19/month, Pro £39/month, Agency £89/month). Current prices are on the pricing page.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time in Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Upgrades and downgrades are prorated by our payment provider.
- If a payment fails we'll retry and email you. If payment can't be collected, the subscription ends and websites above your remaining allowance are taken offline (not deleted).
- Plans include monthly AI credits which reset each month and don't roll over. Different actions cost different amounts (for example a full business website costs 5 credits). Credits have no cash value. Credits for a failed generation are returned.
- Free demo: each customer can have one complete website built free to preview. It isn't published on the internet and can't be downloaded until you buy it or choose a plan.
- Pay once: Basic (£49), Professional (£79) and Premium (£119) websites are one payment for one website, with the page, photo and credit limits shown at purchase. They include downloading your website files. They don't include hosting, a domain, unlimited changes or custom development.
- Downloaded websites: features that need our servers (the enquiry form, email alerts, leads dashboard and visitor statistics) don't work in a downloaded copy; the download explains what to use instead.
- Hosting: optional, £9 a month or £89 a year, renewing until you cancel. It doesn't include AI website generation.
- [Refund policy, statutory cancellation rights for consumers, and VAT treatment — to be confirmed by legal/accounting review.]
5. Web addresses (domains)
- Domains are paid for separately from plans. We show the first-year price, renewal price and total before you confirm.
- A domain you buy through us is registered in your name, using the contact details you give. It belongs to you.
- Domains renew yearly at the renewal price shown. [Renewal billing and transfer-out process — to be confirmed before launch.]
- If we can't complete a registration after you've paid, we refund you.
- Deleting a website or your account doesn't delete a domain you own.
6. Taking payments from your customers (optional)
- Businesses that sell items with set prices can let customers pay on their website. Payments are processed by Stripe into your own Stripe account, under Stripe's Connected Account Agreement, which you accept with Stripe when you set up payments.
- You are the seller. You're responsible for what you sell, your prices, delivery or collection, refunds, customer service, and any tax due. Stripe charges its fees to you directly. [Any platform fee per order — currently none — to be confirmed before launch.]
- Customer payments don't pass through our account. Stripe pays them out to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule.
- We never see or store your bank details or your customers' card numbers. We keep each order's details so you can manage it.
- We don't provide delivery, driver tracking or till/POS integration.
7. Your content and your responsibilities
- You own your content. You keep the rights to the text, photos, logos and information you add, and to your published website.
- You must have the right to use everything you upload or publish — including photos (you took them or have permission), logos and testimonials.
- You're responsible for what your website says. Check AI-generated text before publishing. Claims about qualifications, accreditations, insurance, prices, reviews, results or availability must be true and up to date. AI can make mistakes.
- Enquiries from your website contain your customers' personal data. You're responsible for handling them lawfully (see the Privacy Policy).
- You give us permission to host, copy and display your content only as needed to run the service.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use the service for anything illegal, misleading, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit, for spam or phishing, or to harm the service or others. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why where we can.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service and your websites online, but can't promise uninterrupted availability. We may change features; we'll give notice of significant changes and of price changes before they apply to you.
10. Liability
[Limitation of liability wording — to be drafted by a lawyer. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.]
11. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account any time in Settings. We may end or suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. [Jurisdiction and consumer rights wording — to be confirmed.]
